The 2010 Peterson House Bubbly Breakfast will be held at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley and will raise money for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation – an organisation that is dedicated to providing grass root support for local people and their families.
Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation President, Rosalie Taggart said this was the fourth Bubbly Breakfast and attracted enormous support from the community.
‘With the ongoing support of Peterson House the Bubbly Breakfast and Crowne Plaza the breakfast has become a key event in the Hunter during breast cancer awareness month.
‘The Foundation provides support to more than 650 local people each year while they deal with breast cancer. This type of event is so very important in helping the Foundation to reach further into the community and assist those who need support,’ she said.
The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organisation, which provides support for women and men diagnosed and being treated for breast cancer in the Hunter, and for their families. It does this through transportation to and from treatment, providing more than 650 comfort cushions to patients post surgery and assisting with professional lawn maintenance and house cleaning services for people undergoing treatment.
The Foundation supports the education of young people who have parents with breast cancer.
The first event was initiated as a way of heightening the profile of the Foundation’s work by Katrina Richardson and friends and has with the ongoing support of Petersons and the corporate sector grown to be one of the largest breast cancer fundraising events in the Hunter.
The event has also been supported by Norfolk Air and the team at Newcastle Airport as well as many local touirism operators in the Hunter Valley and Crown Plaza Hunter Valley.
It is expected that the event will raise more than $25,000 that will be used by the Foundation to continue its support of local people through supportive care.
A limited number of tickets are available for the event and can be purchased by contacting Janene Spence on 0414 652 497 or Norma Meikle on 0419 658 875.
